Unfortunately, it will cost the landlord thousands of dollars. It doesn’t matter if the landlord’s father encountered health problems. The landlord claimed on a legally binding document that the “landlord and/or spouse” was going to move into the property. Since the tenants moved out with the understanding that the “landlord and/or spouse” was moving into said property and this didn’t happen, the landlord will have to pay up the close to $50,000 awarded to the tenants.
It is not that I am too keen on the current leaders in power but at least they do seem to want to make things better for citizens in terms of housing, cost of living and improvements in mental health and addictions care, even if they do not know exactly what will work best.Article content
