I see some new Cape Bretoners trying to learn nowadays and it warms my heart immensely. I only wish I was younger to help them around the ice and give them the confidence to stick with it until such time as they are comfortable to be on their own. When will our elected officials stand up for us in Halifax? How many public services will we lose before the people get angry about that? We have a mayor in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality , who like me today, will not mention the word that you all know is screaming to be shouted outward.
I find it ironic that Nova Scotia Power has billions of dollars of assets here in the CBRM and yet they pay no commercial taxation to this municipality directly thanks to the privatization act of 1992 where the politicians of the day set up this sweetheart deal.
