READING, WRITING, ROBBERY: SoCal schoolkids robbed on the way to class. It's just the latest shocking crime to rattle the Southland. The adult robbery crew targeting children and their phones. Tonight at 11 from ABC7 Eyewitness News.
The victims were walking in the 7200 block of Melrose Avenue about 7:20 a.m. when they were approached from behind by two women who struck them and pulled them to the ground by their hair, according to LAPD.
Los Angeles School police told Eyewitness News there's been six incidents of similar nature in the last week. In the Melrose incident, one of the girls was punched in the face and her hair was ripped out by one of the female suspects.
