Prosecutors say the man extorted a reality television star, threatened to sell photos of her, and pointed a gun at her.

Weintraub did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News on Thursday. A law enforcement source familiar with the matter confirmed to NBC News that the victim was Vargas.

The two had been in a romantic relationship and Geraghty threatened to sell nude photos of the victim to the media, the district attorney’s office said. The victim was also forced to buy Geraghty a BMW, and on Jan. 31 he allegedly fired a gun into a ceiling during an argument, the DA’s office said. A public defender listed as representing him did not immediately return a request for comment Thursday evening.
