Staff Reports The Ariton junior high boys basketball team won all three of its games to win the Pike Liberal Arts Tournament on Saturday, capping it with a 38-25 victory in the championship game over G.W. Long.In the opening win over Highland Home, Bryson Rhett had 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while Pierce Gill had 10 points and Bryce Johnson had six points and eight rebounds.
Against Geneva, Johnson had 14 points and 12 rebounds, Rhett had 12 points and seven assists and Grant Jones had five points and six steals. In the championship win over G.W. Long, Rhett had 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Gill had eight points and eight rebounds, while Bryce Odom and Johnson had six points each.G.W. Long finishes runner-up: G.W. Long finished as the runner-up at the Pike Liberal Arts Tournament, falling to Ariton in the championship 38-25.In the win over Elba, Bryce Smith had 15 points and Trevor Johnston and Dakoda Sutton had six points each. Levi Martin led Elba with six points.
G.W. Long girls win both games: G.W. Long JV girls basketball team won both of its games at the Pike Liberal Arts Tournament, beating the host Patriots 26-4 and Georgiana 31-16.In the victory over Georgiana, Dyson had 19 points and Kayli Cordell added six points.
