On affected vehicles, the rear coil springs – manufactured by Alabama-based Daewon Kang Up Co. – may detach and fall off while the SUV is in motion, due to them being installed incorrectly during vehicle assembly, reports. Some 14,487 examples of the Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L are being recalled over the issue in Canada, but Jeep parent Stellantis estimates only about 13 per cent of those SUVs require repair.
” that may be tied to the issue. “At least one owner reported that a rear coil spring fell off while they were driving.” Dealers will inspect vehicles covered by the campaign and effect a remedy if necessary. Owners will be notified if their Grand Cherokee is affected beginning July 28. Some newer Jeep Grand Cherokees from the model years above were also recalled late last month
