Jeep Confirms Death Of EcoDiesel Wrangler, Engine Will Live On In The Gladiator | Carscoops carscoops
As expected, the diesel is getting a final sendoff in the form of a limited edition known as the Wrangler Rubicon FarOut.
It features a satin black grille, body-color fender flares, and unique 17-inch aluminum wheels. Other highlights include a “3.0 Diesel” hood graphic, exclusive “3.0 D” badging, and the LED Lighting Group.Inside, buyers will find black leather seats with contrasting red accents. They’re joined by all-weather floor mats and the Cold Weather Group, which adds heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
The Wrangler Rubicon FarOut will be available to order through November and deliveries are slated to begin in the fourth quarter of this year. The automaker didn’t say why they were discontinuing the diesel, but noted the 2023 Wrangler will be offered with four different powertrains ranging from aWhile the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine is dying in the Wrangler, where it produced 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque, it will continue to live on in the Gladiator.
