The 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon FarOut Edition will be the last to come equipped with Jeep's 3.0L EcoDiesel V-6. But Jeep's Diesel engine isn't dead yet.
Jeep has good news and somewhat bad news for fans of the Wrangler. The good news is that the automaker just revealed theFarOut Edition which will be available toward the end of this year. The bad news is that this limited edition model will be the final Jeep Wrangler powered by the 3.0 liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine. Yes, you read correctly, the Rubicon FarOut Edition is a sendoff model, so get it while you can.
With the EcoDiesel no longer an option after this model, the Wrangler buyers will have the choice of a 2.0-liter turbo I-4, 3.6-liter V-6, 6.4-liter V-8, and the plug-in hybrid drivetrain in the 4xe. For those worried about what this means for the EcoDiesel, Jeep confirmed that the engine is not dead. For off-road duty, the FarOut Edition is equipped with a third-generation Dana 44 front and rear heavy-duty axles, a 3.73 axel ratio, and Rock-Trac two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio. Chances are if you want to get your hands on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon FarOut Edition, you probably put in an order. If not, there is still time as Jeep isn't closing the book on it until November 2022.
