A 33-year-old Canadian woman, who was abducted by Hamas terrorists from a kibbutz near the Gaza Strip, has been killed by her abductors.A statement from the family will be released at 3 p.m. by the Jewish Federation of Ottawa.
Kibbutz Holit, located in the south-west of Israel, was established in 1977 on the sands of the Sinai Peninsula. The word ‘Holit’ means sand in Hebrew. Aladjem told Israel’s Channel 12 TV station that she was hiding in a closet with another neighbour, who was shot dead when the terrorists uncovered them. She was forced into her living room, where she was joined by Vital-Kaploun’s two children, aged four months and four years.They were later marched towards the Gaza Strip, but somehow managed to escape when their abductors were distracted.
