Kibbutz Holit, located in the south-west of Israel, was established in 1977 on the sands of the Sinai Peninsula. The word ‘Holit’ means sand in Hebrew. In the early moments of the attack, Vital-Kaploun hid with her children in her home and was in contact by text with her next-door neighbour, Avitel Aladjem.
