Glitch sees Alberta send out numerous emergency alerts
A test of the Alberta Emergency Alert system had some Albertans wondering if there was an actual emergency.
An online archive of the alerts shows as many as nine test messages went out to Albertans between 1:55 and 2:01 p.m. Paul Fairie, an instructor at the University of Calgary, posted: “Is the emergency alert system experiencing an emergency?” and others asked, “Is Alberta glitching” and “Have you ever heard the story of the boy who cried wolf?”
