The Village of Baddeck will, as of March 13, have a new chief administrative officer. A March 15 meeting will determine who will be the village's new board chair. IAN NATHANSON/CAPE BRETON POST - IAN NATHANSON/CAPE BRETON POSTBADDECK — As the Village of Baddeck is getting most of its financial affairs back in order, some new faces will be gracing the board of commissioners in the weeks ahead.
MNP partner Jerred Stephenson, centre, outlines the Village of Baddeck's financial outlook and upcoming budget as interim board chair Ian Nicholson, left, and interim CAO Sandy Hudson listen in during an annual general meeting held last April. Nicholson has decide to resign as board chair, while Hudson will stay on briefly to help the village's new CAO transition into his new role, effective March 13.
“I’ve been in this commission for over six years now, and it’s been some wearing times and lots of meetings. I’m realizing my time remaining is becoming more limited, and I’m not happy to be doing something in a way that I don’t feel that I can give the proper amount of time what it needs. It was just all becoming too much for me.
Under Nicholson and Hudson, the village commission managed to meet most of Lohr’s updated orders, Hudson said.
