ILWU Canada late Friday announced that members have “voted NO” to the deal and encouraged a return to the bargaining table.International Longshore and Warehouse Union workers picket outside of the BC Maritime Employers Association Dispatch Center after a 72 hour strike notice and no agreement made on the bargaining table in Vancouver, on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Despite the rejection, the union didn’t issue a new strike notice on Friday.
Voting on the four-year deal by members of the union took place over the past two days, with results announced just after 10 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday.
