Andrew Innes, 52, told a police officer “I killed her, she’s under the floor” an Edinburgh Court has heard. Innes has denied murdering Bennylyn Burke, 25, and her two-year-old daughter, Jellica, and is claiming diminished responsibility

The officers managed to get into the house.PC Burns said it was"in a bit of a disarray", adding:"There was a fair bit of disturbance to the house."

Speaking to PC Brogan, he said he saw"dozens of WhatsApp messages from many different males" to Ms Burke. After again being challenged by PC Burns, Innes allegedly confessed:"I killed her, she's under the floor. We got into a fight and I killed her."The court had earlier heard that Mrs Burke, originally from the Philippines, had lived in Bristol after marrying Lexington Burke, 65, in August 2019.Mr Burke said he was due to pick up daughter Jellica on 19 February 2021 but was unable to reach Ms Burke.
