Man admits killing mum and daughter before 'burying bodies in concrete'

Prosecutors allege Andrew Innes “stabbed” Bennylyn Burke, 25, and “repeatedly” struck her on the head with a hammer or similar instrument at his property in Troon Avenue, Dundee, between February 20 and March 5, 2021.Prosecutors claim Innes then hid their bodies under the kitchen floor of the propertyThe 52-year-old also admitted to killing little Jellica Burke and it is claimed that he did “asphyxiate her by means unknown.

Prosecutors claim Innes then hid their bodies under the kitchen floor of the property, with a further accusation that he also committed a catalogue of horror sexual abuse against a seven-year-old girl he abducted. This includes a claim that he did wrap the body of Bennylyn in a rubble bag, blanket and tarpaulin and then concealed the corpse in concrete under the kitchen floor at the Troon Avenue property.

He is said to have told the officers he left them with an “unknown male” and that he had no contact with them afterwards. At a hearing last year his defence advocate, Brian McConnachie, told the trial judge that Innes did not appreciate the wrongfulness of his actions due to a mental disorder.
