Tyler Dana Carl Gaudet, 38, appeared in provincial court in Charlottetown on March 2 and pleaded guilty to theft under $5,000 and common assault. - Terrence McEachernCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. man with a significant drug addiction who assaulted and stole from another man after an argument at the Charlottetown Outreach Centre has been sentenced to jail time.
Crown attorney Emily Campbell told the court that on Feb. 23, Gaudet and another man got into an argument at the Charlottetown Outreach Centre. The man did not realize that Gaudet had followed him to his residence on Euston Street. At the residence, Gaudet pushed past the door and grabbed the man's cigarettes from his pocket. Gaudet then shoved the man to the floor and left with the cigarettes. As Gaudet was leaving, he shouted to the man that"he's dead.
Gaudet was back at the outreach centre on Dec. 22. At around 3:12 p.m., police were called again because Gaudet was on drugs, yelling and screaming at a staff member. Gaudet also threatened to"murder" staff members, said MacDonald.
