Its choice of stars to Enigma, Don Alfonso and Aburi Hanna was questionable. Aburi Hana because it is overpriced, Don Alfonso because it is inconsistent, sometimes great — such as when the main restaurant chefs from Italy are in tutoring — and sometimes, well, not, and in Enigma’s case, because it is not there quite yet but might become so.
I have always hoped that Au Pied de Cochon would open a branch in Toronto, but have no similar personal aspiration for St. Lawrence. Two restaurants that the locals expected to receive stars and deservedly did not were Hawksworth and Bluewater Café. My comments respecting Toronto’s One apply to both.Article content
