Melissa Chiu focuses on creating a museum of the future—one that isn’t brick and mortar
In a series called How I Cope, we speak to people across the country about the things they are doing to relieve stress in these uncertain times due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Here’s our conversation with Melissa Chiu, 48, the director of the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., which is known for its contemporary art and culture and has been closed since March 14. She lives with her husband and their 9-year-old daughter.
