A plant-based potluck fundraiser is being held in metro this evening in support of Heavenly Creatures.

Co-founder and director of Heavenly Creatures, Jessica Rendell says they are seeing more and more volunteers and supporters who eat plant-based foods, so they decided to base a fundraiser around it. She says the organization will be making extra food in case people aren’t able to bring something. People who don’t regularly eat plant-based foods are also encouraged to stop by if they want to try some of the meals.Rendell says demand is high right now.

“It’s through the roof” says Rendell. She notes a phone call with an elderly couple who are disabled, they can no longer afford their dog’s medication and were looking for help in getting it.
