He says 'the demand has gone through the roof in general practice'
A Nottingham doctor has warned the NHS is 'broken' amid an ongoing critical incident which has seen long wait times in A&E and some operations postponed.

The system is running on empty. Staff morale is low and there have been strikes. I’ve never known a situation as dire as what we are in at the moment.”
The trust, like many across the country, has struggled with flow through the hospital due to ‘medically fit for discharge’ numbers of patients who cannot leave the hospital because of pressures in the social care sector.
