—1500s, 2500s, and 3500s—are fitted with a Truck Hero tri-fold soft tonneau cover over the bed that may not be securely attached enough to the vehicle. That means that the part could come loose and, if that happens while the truck is being driven, it could fly off onto the road as happened to a customer in Canada, which is what started this new recall round.
The fault was previously known and customers who had one of these tri-fold tonneau covers from the factory may consider this old news. On January 28, however, an engineer submitted a “Speak Up For Safety” report about a customer complaining that their cover had flown off on the highway despite their truck not having been identified in the original recall.
