Certain Disney-branded hand sanitizers and Suave aerosol deodorants are recalled because of the presence of carcinogenic chemicals.
Disney-themed hand sanitizers with Mickey Mouse or Baby Yoda on the labels have been recalled because they may be contaminated with harmful chemicals, the Food and Drug Administration announced. In addition, Unilever recalled certain Suave aerosol antiperspirants after tests detected the presence of benzene, a cancer-causing chemical.Best Brands Consumer Products imported the hand sanitizers. FDA testing found methanol, a type of wood alcohol, in the Mickey Mouse product.
The recalled products are the Suave 24-Hour Protection Aerosol Antiperspirant Powder in the 4 oz. and 6 oz. sizes and the 6 oz. Suave 24-Hour Protection Aerosol Antiperspirant Fresh. The recall covers all products with an expiration date through September 2023.“Based on an independent health hazard evaluation, daily exposure to benzene in the recalled products at the levels detected in testing would not be expected to cause adverse health consequences,” the company said.
Two models are affected. Model MPC322S has a manufacturing date of 2017JUN09. Model MPC122S has a manufacturing date of 2017JUN02.Playmonster recalled nearly 9,000 rattles. The company recalled the Kid O Hudson glow rattle, a motion-activated rattle shaped like a puppy.Parents can contact the company for a $25 refund.
