As the Ottawa Senators prepare to open main camp next Wednesday, 29 rookies will hit the ice before boarding a bus to Buffalo.
Several of the Senators draft picks from the past couple of years are in NCAA programs or overseas, so they can’t participate in this event. The Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins and the host Sabres are the other participants.

The hope is the sale will be confirmed by the NHL’s board of governors Monday and a news conference will be held to introduce Andlauer’s ownership group at the Canadian Tire Centre.
