Lomax started as a reporter for the station in 1983 and become a morning news anchor in 1990. He retired in 2022.

John came to Local 12 in 1983 as a reporter, primarily covering Northern Kentucky news. In 1990, he became one of the co-anchors of "Good Morning Cincinnati" where he would stay for the next 32 years.

For hundreds of thousands of viewers over the years, John was simply the kind, easygoing guy we would all wake up to, always ready to catch us up on what had been going on while we slept. But, he was so much more than that. He had a long association with several charities, particularly the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League.

He was a loving husband and father. Around Local 12 he was known as "The Godfather" because he always took care of the people at the station. What you saw at home was what his co-workers got to see in person everyday -- a man with a huge heart and a lot of love to give. He gave that generously to all on a regular basis.

John is survived by his wife, Donna, and his children, Lindsay and Brandon, as well as his grandchildren. We will miss him and we know we're not alone.
