'Wow! It’s been a long time coming! Can’t wait.'
Building work for the town's Showtown museum has now been complete, with new images published today revealing what it will look like. With much of the hard work now finished, the installation of the exhibitions, objects and interactives will now begin.
It was confirmed that 30 new jobs would be created as a result of the brand new museum, which was due to be opened in April 2023. At the time, it was said that 10 existing staff were working hard to create the displays, meaning 40 positions would be made at the museum in total. The £13m museum will showcase Blackpool's rich entertainment history, however, it appears visitors will have to wait another year, as the museum is set to open to the public in Spring 2024. In the comments of the Facebook pot, Showtown Blackpool added: "All getting very exciting now. We will be opening to the public in Spring 2024 ready for the Easter holidays!"
