Judge Daniella DeSeta Lyttle entered the judgment after hearing evidence in the civil case brought by Wilson's parents.

"The court heard evidence and then granted the judgment," said Randy Howry, the attorney representing the Wilson family. "It will likely be a significant judgment against Ms. Armstrong." In their lawsuit, the Wilsons sought $5 million each in damages for mental anguish, pecuniary loss, and loss of society and companionship, plus an additional $2.5 million each in exemplary damages.Armstrong was convicted of first-degree murder in November 2023 and sentenced to 90 years in prison for fatally shooting the 25-year-old Wilson, who was staying at a friend's house in Austin ahead of a race.
