More than 1,800 cannabis plants have been seized following a GTA-wide operation by the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team .
The Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team is comprised of officers from various police services, including Durham police. They were assisted by OPP, and other Durham and York police officers for this particular investigation. On March 8, investigators executed search warrants in Scarborough, North York, Markham and Richmond Hill.Investigators also seized various amounts of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, ketamine and psilocybin.
As well, they seized a high-end vehicle worth $90,000, about $40,000 worth of watches, nearly $283,000 in Canadian currency and around $41,000 in American currency, along with phones, laptops, computers and tablets. Chien-Ying Lee, 38, of Scarborough, Fu-Lin Wang, 27, of Scarborough, Xiaozhe Jia, 27, of Thornhill, and Nam Hei Chan, 21, of Scarborough, are facing various drug-related charges.If you have found a spelling error, please, notify us by selecting that text and pressing
