Toronto’s architecture and music lovers will be able to discover some of the city’s hidden gems in this festival open to the public.
Toronto turns into a massive open-air museum this weekend as the Doors Open festival returns.
The festival, a tradition since the 2000s, is an ode to Toronto’s public space and architecture. Toronto City Hall, the Aga Khan Museum and Toronto-Dominion Centre are among the 150 sites featuring attractions on the weekend. This year’s theme, “City of Sounds,” celebrates the intersection between music and spaces.
Each site interpreted the theme differently and will host a variety of performances and workshops, Williamson said. For instance, at Kadampa Buddhist Temple, a former church with a large meditation hall in Little Italy, visitors will be able to experience guided meditation sessions meant to reflect upon the absence of sound.
