Mark William-Thomas says he will travel to the stretch of the River Wyre to 'dismiss inaccuracies' connected to the Nicola Bulley case
Nicola Bulley's mysterious disappearance is set to be probed by an ex-detective who exposed Jimmy Savile's sick crimes and investigated Madeleine McCann kidnap.
The force is continuing to search the River Wyre towards the sea at Morecambe Bay, working on one hypothesis that the mum-of-two, from Inskip, could have fallen in near a bench where her phone and dog's harness were found. They had previously ruled out foul play while her heartbroken husband Paul Ansell said his "gut instinct" is that she is not in the river.
Mark Williams-Thomas is now set to travel to where Nicola was last seen to assist. He was previously linked to the Savile case as well as helping the investigation into a kidnap suspect connected to Maddie McCann. He said: "I will be spending time up in St Michael's on Wyre next week to pull together a quick turnaround report of what exactly is known about the disappearance of Nicola Bulley.
A large poster with a photograph of Nicola has also been attached to the railings. The ongoing search for Nicola has been aided by specialists and divers from HM Coastguard, mountain rescue and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, with sniffer dogs, drones and police helicopters.
