Corner Brook councillor who says he refuses to read emails kicked out of council meeting by mayor during heated exchange
At its Feb. 27 meeting, council rejected a proposed code of conduct, and by doing so failed to meet the provincial government’s March 1 deadline to have one put in place. When the matter came up for discussion again on Monday, Parsons said the council had three options: 3. Have changes made to the template provided by the province to make it compliant with the City of Corner Brook Act and vote on that.
As the debate continued, Pender agreed to provide his notes to the clerk to have it compiled in a document for council to review and to bring the matter back at the next meeting.Things went off the rails, however, when Pender made a comment about not responding to things sent to him via email by councillors.
