The fate of the prime minister's 34-room official residence is in the hands of Justin Trudeau and his cabinet.

Stephen Harper was the last PM to live there.concluded the residence is in "critical" condition and pegged the cost to complete "deferred maintenance" at $36 million.
"The politicians making the decision — this is not their building. This belongs to the people of Canada," Flemming told CBC News.
