SaltWire's Atlantic regional weather forecast for October 12, 2023 | SaltWireCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Michael Ignatieff, former Liberal Party of Canada leader, historian and recipient of the 2023 Symons Medal, will speak on a variety of topics during a medal presentation in Charlottetown in November.
The Symons Medal is given to a Canadian who has made an impactful contribution to Canadian life, offering the recipient a national platform to speak and discuss the current state of the nation, shared history and prospects. The forum, which takes place Nov. 9-10, will feature three panels and post-panel discussions on immigration, economic reconciliation and finding shared national narratives.
