Croman is still adjusting to the new normal of everyday life. She lives independently but has faced overwhelming costs of installing ramps at her apartment and obtaining over-the-counter medical supplies, among other expenses, Tucci said. Croman’s neighbor Gale Green noticed smoke pouring from Croman’s house early the morning of May 11, then saw her peering from a third-story window.at the second-story level, but bounced over the roof’s edge onto the ground. She was taken to a hospital, where she was intubated and temporarily sedated.
