Cape Breton Regional Police responded to reports of people involved in an altercation in front of the Sobeys store and that one of them was holding what looked like a knife. With assistance from witnesses, officers confirmed all parties involved and arrested one man at the scene. EHS also responded to the scene but there were no injuries that required medical treatment.
After further investigation, the man was released on a promise to appear in Sydney Provincial Court in October, charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
