QMJHL: Charlottetown Islanders down Cape Breton Eagles, move one point ahead of team in league standingsRoy’s journey to the major junior level saw him make stops in the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Under-18 Major Hockey League as well as with Rothesay Netherwood School, where he notched 14 goals and 36 points in 44 games in 2019-20.
In 61 games in his rookie year, Roy had a goal and seven points along with 29 penalty minutes. He had four goals and six points in 32 games with the Quebec-based team to begin this season. “I think I’ve had a pretty good second half of the season so far,” said Roy. “I’d like to improve on my decision-making with the puck, but right now I’m more focused on helping the team get as many points as possible for the playoffs.”
“I think we have some really good players on this team and I think there are teams who don’t want to play us in the playoffs,” said Roy. “We just have to keep working, playing our game and hopefully good things will happen.”
