Brookfield Asset Management is exploring the sale of Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Thursday. The Toronto-based asset manager is working with an adviser to solicit potential interest in the property, and could fetch roughly $2.5 billion for the luxury resort, the source said. Brookfield took over Atlantis in late 2011 when its previous owner Kerzner International transferred ownership in a debt-for-equity restructuring deal.

The number of planes that could take off and land at Gatwick Airport was restricted because of "short notice sickness" in the air control tower, managed by National Air Traffic Services . EasyJet - the worst-affected airline with 42 cancellations - said staffing problems had caused 29 days of travel restrictions at Gatwick since May.
United Airlines said Tuesday that a software update triggered a glitch that forced it to halt departures nationwide, briefly crippling one of the nation's biggest carriers on a busy travel day. Federal officials said United crews had been unable to contact airline dispatchers through normal means. “A software update caused a widespread slowdown in United’s technology systems,” United said in a statement. The airline said it was not a cybersecurity issue.
