A Community Theatre is gearing up to stage Michael Frayn's rollicking British farce, Noises Off at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown. ContributedCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — After four years of preparation, A Community Theatre is gearing up to stage a production of Michael Frayn's Noises Off at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown.

The show was originally scheduled for March 2020 but was shelved due to the pandemic. However, with an ensemble cast and fresh faces, ACT is ready to bring the British farce comedy to the Florence Simmons Performance Hall stage. The performance features a versatile two-story construction, including multiple flights of stairs, two full balconies and enough slapstick, innuendo and sardine-tossing to keep audiences in stitches.

Keir Malone is directing the production, backed by stars Brian Collins, Amanda Rae Donovan, Richard Haines, Colin Hood, Marti Hopson, Mike Mallaley, Noah Nazim, Amy Sobol and Laura Stapleton. "My hope is that the audience is left briefly overwhelmed by laughter and the sheer size of what we are pulling off,” said Malone.More information and tickets are availableIt has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
