NEW GLASGOW, N.S. — Tucked under the overpass on MacLean Street in downtown New Glasgow, two brightly painted murals greet pedestrians, encouraging thought ...

Allan submitted her design under the culture and diversity category, and she said she was flattered to have her design selected for the project.

“It gave me time to reflect on all those little nuances of the painting, and they became larger concepts in my mind that I was able to ponder and think about. It helped me a little with some personal growth and some learning. How new bank rules could create a two-tiered banking systemHow new bank rules could create a two-tiered banking systemThe Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or FDIC, unveiled new regulations that will require banks with at least $100 billion in assets to issue enough long-term debt to absorb losses in case of a potential seizure.
