The Trafford Centre has announced that its main mall opening hours for Boxing Day will be from 8am to 8pm , but individual retailers may set their own times. Many stores, however, have taken the decision not to open this Boxing Day to allow staff to spend times with their friends and family.The AA, meanwhile, said it expects 15.2 million cars on UK roads on Boxing Day, with shoppers and football fans among those likely to travel.
New data has predicted that shoppers will spend 4 per cent less this Boxing Day and during the post-Christmas sales due to the cost-of-living crisis. The research found that a growing number of shoppers expect to turn to reselling sites to buy items after Christmas. It found that almost three in 10, 28%, are planning to use platforms such as Ebay and Facebook Marketplace, to offload unwanted Christmas presents.
