The body of a missing Conecuh County resident has been found after a seven-day search, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The body of John Derek Faulkner was found about 9:30 a.m. Sunday near the Alabama River Bridge in Monroe County, the sheriff’s office said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Mr. Faulkner as they navigate this tragic loss,” Sheriff Tom Boatwright stated. The body will be transported to the Alabama State Forensic Science for further investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office conducted the search in cooperation with agencies including the Conecuh County Sheriff’s Office, ALEA Aviation Unit, the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation, Monroe County Rescue Squad, Jackson Rescue Squad, Conecuh County Rescue Squad and various county volunteer fire departments.Hands-free law to take effect in Alabama this June
