After a week of searching, the missing winner of the $2.8 million Jays Care jackpot for their April draw has been found. The winner from Hamilton purchased 250 of the $100 tickets on April 11, said the Jays Care organizers.
The same amount will be invested into Jays Care programming across Ontario.
The organization, which supports providing youth in under-resourced communities access to organized sports, first alerted the public about the unclaimed jackpot prize on May 1. Jays Care says Deb came forward with the winning ticket more than a week after the organization first announced the winning number on May 1.“We’d like to thank and congratulate our lucky winner: Deb from the Hamilton Region. This draw is not only life-changing for her, but also for the thousands of kids in Jays Care programs who will benefit from the $2.
Jays Care works to “level the playing field” with a special focus on equal access to organized sports for: girls, Indigenous youth, youth living with disabilities and youth in under-resourced communities.
