In Saturday’s 8-2 victory, it was seven runs. Brandon Belt and Alejandro Kirk, batting sixth and seventh, combined to reach base eight times: Belt with a couple of doubles and a pair of walks; Kirk singled, doubled, walked and was hit by a pitch. Cavan Biggio andAnd in Sunday’s finale, a 10-1 blowout, No. 6 hitter Whit Merrifield singled in a run in the first inning and added a three-run home run in the third, his first big fly of the season.
“The top of the order is as good as any,” Jansen said after his two-hit, two-ribbie Sunday, “and then the bottom of the order is like a revolving door of players, in some ways. But it’s a deep lineup, so everybody can do their part and bang around. A series like this, clicking on all cylinders, is what we’re capable of.”

It just really lengthens it out. You don’t have to be so reliant on the top four … it’s a pretty dangerous lineup.”
“I feel like I have a more consistent approach and swing right now that could stay a while,” Belt said as he quickly dressed to catch the team bus to the airport. “That’s what I’m working on.”
