The plant’s affected Beyond Meat products appear to have tested positive for listeria 11 times between the second half of 2021 and the first half of 2022.

The report also stated that many non-food items had contaminated the meat substitute product, including metal, wood, string and plastic. Beyond Meat refuted the allegations in the Bloomberg report with a spokesperson saying that its plant conditions were “stringent, going above and beyond industry and regulatory standards.”This is not the first time Beyond Meat products had been called out for food safety issues.
