The referendum comes amid nationwide backlash against drag shows

If approved, the ordinance would prohibit minors from attending drag shows – defined as “adult oriented exhibitions featuring male or female impersonators who provide displays and entertainment appealing to sexual interest.” It also blocks drag shows on public property or any location “viewable” by a minor.
