Stocks in Asia were set to trade higher at the open on Friday, ahead of the release of Chinese economic data expected later in the day. Futures pointed to a higher open for stocks in Japan. The Nikkei futures contract was at 20,070 while its counterpart in Osaka was at 20,080. That compared against theShares in Australia were also set for a positive start, with the SPI futures contract at 5,353, as compared to the S&P/ASX 200's last close at 5,328.70.
