The U.S. has sent three naval ships near Malaysian oil-and-gas operations in recent days, a show of support for the Southeast Asian facing pressure from China
The littoral combat ship USS Gabrielle Giffords on Tuesday sailed close to a drillship named West Capella, contracted by Malaysia’s national oil company, after two other U.S. naval vessels patrolled there last week.
