The contract, issued without a competitive bidding process, was obtained by Postmedia through a freedom of information request. It agrees to Last Door licensing 65 bed-based addiction services providers to use the app in each of the three years of the contract, adding another 15 non-bed based addiction services providers in both the second and third year. However, the province is still well shy of hitting the 2021-22 licensing benchmark.
In response to questions from Postmedia, Colin Aitchison, press secretary to Mental Health and Addiction Minister Nicholas Milliken, said the contract is being updated to reflect revised timelines and scope. “Since the contract was originally developed, the timelines and scope for the rollout of My Recovery Plan have been adjusted to ensure technology and privacy-related requirements were met,” he said.
