After spending the past couple of months with the Flames, Jakob Pelletier and Walker Duehr are pumped for a playoff run with the Wranglers.
The top-seeded Wranglers, feeling refreshed after a first-round bye, open their playoff crusade with a best-of-five series against the Abbotsford Canucks. They’ll host Games 1 and 2 on Wednesday and Friday at the Saddledome, with puck drop set for 7 p.m. on both nights.Article content
The return of Duehr and Pelletier — both reassigned after the Flames’ season finale — is undoubtedly good news for a Wranglers squad that rolled to a 51-17-4 record this winter, racking up 256 goals and fishing only 174 pucks out of their own net. Calgary Flames forward Walker Duehr scores on San Jose Sharks goalie Kaapo Kahkonen in the first period of NHL action at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on Saturday, March 25, 2023.The Wranglers are so deep at forward that Emilio Pettersen, who has tallied 19 times in 2022-23, has been practising on the fourth unit.Article content
