. YoungBoy Never Broke Again scored his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in October with Al YoungBoy 2 via Never Broke Again/Atlantic Records.
Sources tell Billboard that Vaughn -- who was on Billboard’s 2018 R&B/Hip-Hop 100 Power Players list -- will report directly to CMG chairman/CEO Steve Barnett and work with the top tier of executives already in place, including CMG COO Michelle Jubelirer and CMG president Ashley Newton, who also serves as executive vp of creative/special projects for Universal Music Group.
Through such labels as Motown and Motown/CMG's co-venture with Quality Control , CMG has a strong R&B/hip-hop presence -- but is looking to expand its footprint in that area.
