Amazon did not immediately respond to CNBC Make It's request for comment on Corbyn's tweet.
The U.K. Labour party leader has frequently criticized Bezos and Amazon over the company's low tax bills in the past,sending the company a sarcastic birthday card for Amazon's 25th anniversary in July. In the card, Corbyn wished Amazon "many happy tax returns" while insisting that the company should pay higher U.K. taxes. "You owe the British people millions in taxes that pay for the public services that we all rely on," Corbyn wrote in the letter.to Sen.
"Amazon pays all the taxes we are required to pay in the U.S. and every country where we operate, including paying $2.6 billion in corporate tax and reporting $3.4 billion in tax expense over the last three years," an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement provided to CNBC Make It in February. While Bezos' personal tax filings are not public, his name is frequently mentioned by proponents of levying heavier tax rates on billionaires like the Amazon CEO, including two prominent Democratic presidential candidates.
